JSW Neosteel TMT Rebars are premium, high-strength Thermo-Mechanically Treated (TMT) steel reinforcement bars manufactured by JSW Steel Ltd. Produced from virgin iron ore in state-of-the-art, automated rolling mills, JSW TMT bars are globally recognized for their superior purity, high strength-to-weight ratio, and uniform metallurgical properties.
Manufactured using the globally acclaimed Morgan HYQST (High Yield Quenching and Self-Tempering) technology, JSW TMT bars feature a tempered martensitic outer rim that delivers high yield strength, wrapped around a soft, ductile ferritic-pearlitic core. This precise structure provides the ideal balance of load-bearing strength, high ductility, and seismic energy absorption. JSW TMT conforms strictly to the Bureau of Indian Standards IS 1786:2008 (Grades Fe 500D, Fe 550D, and CRS).
Key Features & Benefits
- 100% Virgin Steel Purity: Manufactured directly from primary iron ore through Blast Furnace (BF) and Basic Oxygen Furnace (BOF) routes rather than recycled scrap steel. This ensures exceptionally low levels of tramp elements, sulphur, and phosphorus.
- Superior Ductility & Seismic Resistance ('D' Grade): High uniform elongation and a high tensile-to-yield strength ratio allow the steel to absorb extreme dynamic energy during earthquakes, making it ideal for Seismic Zones III, IV, and V.
- Corrosion Resistance (CRS Variant): Specially micro-alloyed with corrosion-inhibiting elements (like Copper, Chromium, and Phosphorus) to form an anti-corrosion oxide layer, protecting concrete structures against coastal salinity, acid rain, and groundwater chlorides.
-
High Thermal & Fire Resistance: Maintains structural integrity and load-bearing capacity even under prolonged exposure to temperatures up to
to
.
- Advanced Rib Pattern & Bond Strength: Engineered with precise, CNC-notched ribs that create an interlocking mechanical bond with the surrounding concrete matrix, eliminating rebar slippage and preventing hairline tension cracks.
- Low Carbon Equivalent & Easy Weldability: Ultra-low carbon composition provides excellent butt and lap weldability without pre-heating or post-weld heat treatment, retaining joint strength.
- Uniform Weight Tolerance: Rolled to tight sectional weight tolerances, ensuring contractors and builders receive the exact linear meterage per ton without paying for excess steel mass.
Primary Applications
- Residential & Commercial High-Rises: Columns, heavy foundation rafts, shear walls, beams, and transfer slabs in residential apartments and commercial towers.
- Critical Transportation Infrastructure: Flyovers, bridges, metro rail viaducts, tunnels, airport runways, and highway expressways.
- Industrial Facilities: Power plants, refineries, cement plants, heavy equipment foundations, and industrial warehouse floors.
- Hydraulic & Coastal Structures: Dams, marine jetties, sea walls, water retaining sumps, and sewage treatment plants (using JSW CRS variants).
