Roff Rainbow Tile Mate (RTM) T11 is a premium, polymer-modified, cement-based tile joint filler engineered by Pidilite Industries. Classified as a high-performance T11 cementitious grout, it is specifically formulated to fill the gaps between installed tiles, providing a dense, smooth, and non-dusting joint finish that preserves the durability and structural aesthetics of the layout.

While ordinary white cement grouts suffer from high drying shrinkage—causing them to crack, powder, and allow water seepage over time—Roff RTM incorporates advanced polymers. These additives drastically lower water permeability and provide excellent flexural strength, making it the industry standard for general-purpose tiling work up to a joint width of 5 mm.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Non-Shrink & Crack-Free: Formulated with polymer binders that mitigate dry shrinkage stresses, ensuring the cured grout lines remain smooth and structural without surface cracks.
  • Water-Resistant Barrier: Significantly reduces the porous absorption common to standard cement, providing a cleaner barrier that protects tile edges from premature degradation.
  • Non-Dusting Surface: Creates a hard-wearing, dense cross-linked profile that will not crumble away into fine dust during regular sweeping or vacuuming.
  • Vibrant Color Fastness: Made with high-grade pigments that lock color uniformly throughout the joint thickness, resisting fading or spotting from regular solar and light exposure.
  • Low VOC Formula: Promotes excellent indoor air quality, certified with low Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) for safe implementation in enclosed living spaces.
  • Highly Economical & Easy to Clean: A simple on-site water mix format that spreads easily with a rubber squeegee and wipes away cleanly with a damp sponge without staining tile faces.

Primary Applications

  • Compatible Materials: Ideal for filling joint spaces in all varieties of glazed ceramic tiles, vitrified or semi-vitrified floor tiles, porcelain panels, terracotta, and dense natural stones (granites and marbles).
  • Area Placements: Recommended for interior and exterior wall and floor applications across residential living areas, corridors, balconies, and light commercial centers.
  • Joint Limits: Designed perfectly for standard grout spaces ranging from 1 mm to 5 mm wide.

The 18-Shade Palette Collection

A major highlight of the Roff Rainbow Tile Mate lineup is its wide selection of colors. It comes in 18 distinct, pre-pigmented architectural shades, allowing customers to either camouflage the joints for a seamless layout or use a contrasting tone to highlight design lines.

System Enhancements: Roff RTM Wide Additive

For projects with specific structural demands, the basic RTM powder can be mixed with Roff RTM Wide Additive (a specialized white polymer liquid emulsion) instead of standard water.

  • Why Use It: It bumps up joint capacity up to 6 mm, injects superior elastic flexibility to handle structural vibrations, drastically lowers water permeability, and boosts chemical stain resistance—making it the ideal hybrid upgrade for external facades and balconies.

Application Instructions

  1. Pre-Check Timeline: Ensure at least 24 hours have passed since the tiles were laid to let the underlying adhesive release its primary moisture. Joints must be entirely dry, clean, and emptied out to a minimum depth of 2/3 of the tile thickness.
  2. Mixing: Take measured water in a clean bucket and slowly introduce the Roff RTM powder. Blend thoroughly by hand or with a slow-speed paddle stirrer (<300 RPM) until a uniform, lump-free color paste forms. Let the paste slake (rest) for 2 to 5 minutes, then remix briefly. Use the mixed grout within 60 minutes.
  3. Filling: Pack the grout paste firmly into the empty joints using a hard rubber grout float. Push the float diagonally across the tile joints at a 45-degree angle to fill them fully from bottom to top, scraping off the excess material left on the tile faces.
  4. Clean-up: Allow the grout to firm up slightly in the joints (typically 30–45 minutes). Take a damp, rough-textured sponge and wipe the tile surface in gentle circular motions. Tool the joint lines evenly so they sit flush with the tile edges. Change the cleanup water frequently to avoid leaving a cloudy cement haze.

Limitations

  • Do not use standard cementitious Roff RTM in environments subjected to harsh cleaning acids, continuous standing water, or strict clinical sanitation rules. For institutional swimming pools, industrial commercial kitchens, and hospitals, upgrade to Roff Rainbow Tile Mate Epoxy Grout instead.
