Ramco Hard Worker Waterproofing Coat (HW103) is a premium, two-component, acrylic polymer-modified cementitious coating designed to provide a high-performance barrier against water ingress. Comprising a liquid polymer (Part A) and a specialized cementitious powder (Part B), this product is engineered to form a flexible, durable, and watertight membrane that protects both horizontal and vertical surfaces.
Ideal for both new constructions and renovations, HW103 is a versatile solution for areas prone to water seepage and structural stress.
Key Features & Benefits
- High Elasticity & Flexibility: With an elongation capacity of 90-120%, the cured film stretches without cracking. This allows the coating to withstand the expansion and contraction caused by India’s varying climatic conditions.
- Arrests Water Seepage: It forms a dense, seamless film that stops surface water penetration and internal seepage from standing water or driving rain.
- Superior Bonding: HW103 adheres exceptionally well to various substrates, including concrete, mortar, masonry, and brickwork, even when applied to slightly damp surfaces.
- High Coverage & Yield: The interlocking dual polymer technology requires only a thin layer (1 mm total thickness) to deliver full protection, making it a cost-effective choice for large surface areas.
- Weather & UV Resistance: Designed to resist "chalking" or delamination over time, ensuring that the protective layer remains intact for years.
Primary Applications
- Exposed Terraces & Balconies: Protects open surfaces from heavy rainfall and heat-induced stress.
- Wet Areas (Internal): Ideal for waterproofing bathrooms, kitchen sunken slabs, and utility areas before tiling.
- Water Bodies: Suitable for water tanks, sumps, fountains, and swimming pools (food-grade certified).
- Structural Protection: Can be used on basements, retaining walls, and sunshades to prevent rising dampness and moisture ingress.
Application Steps
- Surface Prep: Clean the surface to remove dust, oil, and loose particles. Fill any visible cracks using a suitable repair mortar.
- Pre-Wetting: Dampen the surface with clean water (Saturated Surface Dry condition), ensuring no standing water remains.
- Mixing: Add water to the Liquid Polymer, then gradually add the Powder while stirring with a slow-speed stirrer until a lump-free, brushable slurry is formed.
- First Coat: Apply a uniform coat horizontally using a brush. Allow it to dry for 3-6 hours.
- Second Coat: Apply the second coat vertically (perpendicular to the first).
- Protection: After air curing for 3 days, apply a protective screed or plaster to safeguard the membrane from mechanical damage.
