Roff New Construction Adhesive (NCA) – T01 is a high-quality, grey cement-based, polymer-modified thin-set tile adhesive designed by Pidilite Industries. Specially formulated for brand-new tiling projects, it offers an engineered, reliable replacement for traditional sand-cement mortar.
Roff NCA is designed to securely fix high-porosity tiles—such as ceramic, clay, terracotta, and regular-sized quarry tiles—on internal floors and walls. It complies strictly with IS 15477:2019 Type 1 'T' standards for interior thin-bed tile applications.
Key Features & Benefits
- No Hollow Sounds & Crack-Free Tiles: Traditional cement mixes often shrink, leading to hollow pockets and tile cracks. Roff NCA ensures total surface coverage, preventing tiles from debonding or cracking.
- Excellent Sag Resistance (Type 1 'T'): The 'T' designation stands for slip resistance, making it highly efficient for top-down, non-slip vertical wall applications.
- Self-Curing Properties: Unlike raw cement mortar, this adhesive does not require intensive, messy water curing post-installation, reducing labor costs and timeline strain.
- Water Resistant: Ideal for internal dry areas as well as internal wet zones like residential bathrooms, kitchens, and utilities.
- Low VOC Content: Eco-friendly and safe for indoor air quality, contributing to a healthy living environment.
Primary Applications
- Materials to Fix: All types of high-porosity ceramic tiles, regular-sized terracotta, clay tiles, and brick masonry. It is also highly recommended for standard vitrified floor installations.
- Suitable Substrates: Can be applied seamlessly over cement-based screeds, sand-cement plasters, and smooth concrete surfaces.
- Areas of Use: Residential flats, commercial shops, internal corridors, indoor dry areas, and household wet zones.

Understanding the Roff Tile & Stone Adhesive Range (Variants)
While Roff NCA (T01) is the flagship budget-friendly solution for new, standard indoor construction, the Roff tile adhesive ecosystem features distinct variants tailored to handle specialized weights, materials, and substrates:
- Roff New Construction Adhesive (NCA) - T01 (Grey): The base standard. Perfect for standard ceramic floor/wall tiling and basic vitrified floor tiling on new indoor surfaces.
- Roff Non-Skid Adhesive (NSA) - T02 (Grey): Highly polymer-modified with increased grab. Best for challenging internal wet zones (bathrooms/kitchens) and standard semi-vitrified "tile-on-tile" applications.
- Roff Non-Skid Adhesive (NSA) - T09 (White): A specialized white-cement version of the T02 adhesive, ideal for glass mosaics, premium glazed tiles, or translucent wall stones where a grey backing would cast a shadow.
- Roff Vitrofix Adhesive - T03 (Grey): Formulated specifically to handle the dense, zero-porosity nature of all sizes of internal vitrified tiles, porcelain, and heavy natural stones (marble, granite) on floors and walls.
- Roff Vitrofix Adhesive - T04 (White): The premium white variant of the T03 adhesive line. It provides a clean base for light-colored marbles, designer glass backsplashes, and translucent stones.
- Roff Extrofix Adhesive - T07: A high-performance adhesive engineered to sustain external thermal shocks, rain, and environmental stress. Used for external tile applications and semi-commercial layouts.
- Roff Extrofix Ultra Adhesive - T20: The ultimate high-performance premium adhesive system. Engineered specifically for heavy exterior wall claddings, large-format slabs ($600\text{mm}\times600\text{mm}$ and above), and areas prone to continuous structural vibrations (like lift lobbies or heavy foot traffic zones).
- Roff Master Fix Adhesive - T29: A multi-surface, highly flexible specialty adhesive used when tiles or engineered stones need to be fixed onto drywalls, plywood, metal sheets, gypsum boards, or cement boards.
Application Instructions for Roff NCA (T01)
- Preparation: Ensure the base substrate is fully cured, clean, structural sound, and free of dirt, oil, or laitance. Dampen the dry or dusty surface slightly before beginning.
- Mixing: Slow-mix the powder into clean water (approx. 5–6 liters of water for a 20/30 kg bag ratio) until a uniform, lump-free paste is generated. Allow the paste to rest for 2-3 minutes.
- Spreading: Apply the adhesive to the substrate using a notched trowel at an even thickness of 3–6 mm. Do not spread more than what can be tiled within 15–20 minutes.
- Fixing: Press the tile firmly into the ribbed adhesive bed with a slight twisting motion. Tap gently using a rubber mallet to ensure 100% bed coverage and correct leveling.
