Roff Rainbow Tile Mate Epoxy Grout (RTM Epoxy) T13 is a high-performance, three-component, resin-based epoxy tile joint filler engineered by Pidilite Industries. Designed as a premium alternative to traditional cementitious grouts, it provides an impervious, stain-proof, and highly chemical-resistant seal for tile joints.

When standard cement grouts are exposed to moisture, food spills, or harsh cleaning chemicals, they tend to turn yellow, harbor mold, or crumble away. Roff RTM Epoxy forms a dense, non-porous structural barrier that anchors tile edges together while maintaining a flawless, easy-to-clean appearance. It is ideal for internal and external layouts requiring heavy-duty durability and sanitation, and it accommodates joint gaps ranging from 2 mm to 15 mm.

Key Features & Benefits

  • 100% Stainless & Impervious: Completely resists absorption from common household staining agents like tea, coffee, oil, wine, grease, and acidic condiments. Spills sit on the surface and wipe off easily.
  • Hygienic & Anti-Bacterial: Certified by CFTRI (Central Food Technological Research Institute), Mysore, for absolute safety and hygiene in kitchens and food-processing spaces. It prevents the growth of bacteria, fungi, and mold.
  • Superior Chemical Resistance: Withstands frequent washing with heavy industrial cleaners, mild acids, alkalis, and sanitizing chemicals without breaking down or losing color.
  • High Mechanical Strength: Highly resistant to heavy foot traffic, dynamic abrasion, structural shifting, and impact shocks. It will not crack, peel, or powder over time.
  • True Waterproof Matrix: Creates a watertight seal across joint spaces, making it a critical line of defense in protecting sub-floors from water ingress.
  • No Noxious Odors: Formulated for user-friendly application, it emits no harsh chemical fumes during installation and is highly cleanable with standard water when fresh.

Primary Applications

  • Compatible Surfaces: Glazed ceramic tiles, low-porosity vitrified and porcelain slabs, glass mosaics, marble, granite, and dense natural stones.
  • Residential & Commercial Areas: High-moisture internal zones like bathrooms, shower cubicles, residential kitchens, balconies, and internal living rooms.
  • Industrial & High-Traffic Hubs: Commercial kitchens, restaurants, food processing plants, dairies, hospitals, swimming pools, fountains, shopping malls, and airport lobbies.

Understanding the 3-Component Variant System

Rather than being a pre-mixed powder, the Roff Rainbow Tile Mate Epoxy system consists of a carefully balanced three-component factory kit. These three units must be thoroughly mixed together directly on-site to activate the hardening reaction:

  1. Part A (Base Resin): A thick, viscous epoxy resin paste.
  2. Part B (Chemical Hardener): A reactive liquid hardener that triggers the permanent cross-linking setting process.
  3. Part C (Colored Quartz Filler): A specialized, ultra-fine, pigment-stabilized colored powder matrix that provides the grout's final aesthetic shade, body, and structure.

Packaging Presentation:

To eliminate site errors, the factory provides these in perfectly proportioned, ready-to-mix container kits:

  • 1 Kg Small Batch Bucket Kit (Ideal for precise architectural borders, minor repairs, or mosaic features).
  • 5 Kg Commercial Bucket Kit (Optimized for large-scale floor layouts and commercial contract work).

The World of Colors (Extensive Shade Profile)

The Part C Filler is available in a wide spectrum of over 15 to 18 distinct architectural shades designed to match or contrast with modern tile palettes. Popular variants include:

  • Neutrals & Monochromes: Natural, Ivory, Beige, Khaki, Pastel Grey, Steel Grey, Dark Grey, Jet Black.
  • Earth Tones & Warm Hues: Jaisalmer, Burlywood, Pastel Brown, Coffee Brown, Dark Chocolate, Terracotta, Burgundy.
  • Vibrant Accents: Meadow Green, Sky Blue, Alpine Blue, Sapphire Blue.

Application & Cleaning Method

  1. Substrate Prep: Ensure a minimum 24-hour time interval has passed after tile fixing before starting the grout application. Clean the joint spaces carefully; they must be dry, empty of standing water, and cleaned out to at least 2/3 of the total tile depth.
  2. Mixing: Pour Part A (Base) and Part B (Hardener) into a clean mixing pail. Blend them together by hand or with a low-speed paddle mixer (<300 RPM) until the liquids are entirely unified. Slowly introduce the Part C Colored Filler powder and continue mixing until a uniform, streak-free, creamy color paste is achieved.
  3. Grout Insertion: Pack the mixed epoxy paste firmly into the empty tile joints using a hard rubber grout float. Hold the float at a 90° angle to push the material deep into the gaps, then pull the float diagonally at a 45° angle across the tile faces to scrape away excess surface grout without pulling material out of the joint lines.
  4. Immediate Cleaning: Grout in manageable, small sections. Within 30 to 45 minutes of application (before the epoxy begins to dry or skin), wipe the tile faces down using a rough-textured sponge lightly dampened with clean water. Work in a gentle circular motion to tool the joint into a clean, flush profile. Change your clean-up water frequently to prevent leaving a hazy film on the tiles.

Important Notes & Limitations

  • Do not apply RTM Epoxy on wet or damp joint channels, as moisture will interfere with the chemical cure.
  • Always mix the absolute full factory proportions of Parts A, B, and C. Modifying the ratio by guessing on-site will disrupt the chemical cross-linking, resulting in sticky joints or soft spots.
  • When working with unglazed floor tiles, heavily textured matt-glazes, or highly porous natural stones, apply masking tape along the joint borders before grouting to prevent color staining or entrapment within surface textures.
