Roff Starlike - Epoxy Grout T34 is an ultra-premium, high-performance, two-component (2K) reactive resin epoxy tile joint filler and high-strength adhesive engineered by Pidilite Industries in collaboration with advanced Italian Patented Quartz Technology. It represents the absolute pinnacle of luxury tile grouting, designed specifically for internal and external installations that demand flawless aesthetics, extreme durability, and total environmental resistance.

Unlike standard epoxies that can be difficult to work with or harsh on the applicator, Roff Starlike T34 uses color-coated micro-quartz crystals instead of raw liquid pigments. This ensures completely stable, vibrant, and uniform color locking across every joint line. Furthermore, it functions as a dual-purpose marvel: it is classified both as a Class RG Reactive Grout and a Class R2T Enhanced Reactive Adhesive with zero vertical slip. It perfectly seals or bonds tile joints ranging anywhere from 1 mm to 15 mm in width.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Italian Patented Quartz Technology: Formulated with high-purity, ultra-fine sintered quartz aggregates that prevent color pigment leakage onto ceramic surfaces, guaranteeing an exceptionally smooth, non-porous, and color-uniform finish.
  • 100% Waterproof & Impervious: Forms a dense, crystalline cross-linked matrix that blocks moisture completely, making it an absolute barrier against water seepage in wet rooms and swimming pools.
  • Ultimate Stain & Acid Resistance: Spills from harsh acids, food oils, red wine, coffee, and household chemicals cannot penetrate the surface. Dirt sits on top and wipes away easily without requiring scrubbing.
  • Advanced UV & Weather Resistance: Engineered to withstand strong sunlight, thermal expansions, freeze-thaw cycles, and intense UV exposure without yellowing, fading, or chalking, making it ideal for outdoor applications.
  • Safer, Non-Corrosive Catalyst: Unlike traditional epoxy hardeners that are highly toxic and corrosive, Roff Starlike’s Part B catalyst carries lower exposure risks for applicators (labeled as a mild irritant, not corrosive) and features low VOC emissions (French Class A+).
  • Zero Cracking or Crazing: Exhibits zero drying shrinkage stresses, ensuring joints remain smooth, flat, and crack-free over centuries of structural settling.

Primary Applications

  • Luxury Materials: Ideal for premium porcelain panels, slim tile sheets, vitrified slabs, glass mosaics, wood-finish planks, quartz, and high-end natural stones (marble, granite, slate).
  • Demanding Areas: High-end residential kitchens, bathrooms, shower enclosures, terraces, balconies, external facades, and window frames.
  • Heavy Commercial & Industrial: Luxury hotel lobbies, high-traffic shopping malls, showrooms, airports, hospitals, breweries, dairies, and commercial kitchens.
  • Submerged Marine Spaces: Swimming pools, spas, wellness retreats, thermal baths, hammams, and fountains containing brackish or chlorinated water.

The 2-Component Factory Kit System

Roff Starlike T34 is supplied as a pre-batched, two-component system packed within a single bucket to completely eliminate volumetric mixing errors on site:

  • Part A (Viscous Paste Base): Contains a premium epoxy resin blend mixed with color-coated ceramic quartz spheres and stabilizing additives.
  • Part B (Catalyst Hardener): A precisely portioned organic catalyst liquid that sets off the hardening chemical reaction.

Packaging Presentation:

  • 1 Kg Bucket Kit (Perfect for small mosaic features, border accents, or residential renovations).
  • 5 Kg Commercial Bucket Kit (Optimized for large-scale floor plans, swimming pools, and architectural contracts).

Application & Cleaning Guidelines

  1. Joint Preparation: Ensure that the underlying tile adhesive has fully dried (typically 24 hours for standard settings). Joint channels must be structurally dry, completely free of dust, and vacuumed clean to a depth of at least 2/3 of the tile thickness. Remove any adhesive squeeze-ups.
  2. Mixing: Open the inner bucket containing Part B liquid and empty it entirely into the Part A paste container. Mix using an electric drill fitted with a spiral mixing paddle until a perfectly uniform, streak-free, creamy colored paste is obtained. Scrape the sides and bottom of the bucket with a steel spatula during mixing to ensure all material reacts. Hand mixing is not recommended.
  3. Grout Application: Pack the mixed mortar firmly into the joints using a specialized hard rubber grout float. Apply the paste diagonally across the joint faces at a 45-degree angle to fill them uniformly from base to surface. Scrape off excess grout with the float.
  4. Emulsion Cleanup (Critical Window): Cleaning must be done while the product is still wet. Sprinkle clean water over the grouted tiles. Use a grout float fitted with a moistened white felt pad to perform circular movements clockwise and counter-clockwise. This emulsifies the surface resin and neatly tools the joint lines flush.
  5. Final Wipe: Complete the cleaning pass using a damp sweeps sponge to lift up the remaining resin haze and dry the surface. Change your clean-up water frequently. Once hardened, any leftover resin must be removed mechanically, which can damage the tile surfaces.

Important Precautions

  • Do not mix the product with standard water or solvents under any circumstance.
  • For highly porous natural stones or unglazed tiles, always execute a preliminary patch test to ensure the stone does not absorb the epoxy resin and form unremovable dark halos along the borders.
  • Avoid using undiluted bleach for regular maintenance of lighter grout shades to prevent surface yellowing over time.
