Roff Vertifix (T24) is an ultra-high-performance, two-component, epoxy-based structural adhesive designed by Pidilite Industries. Engineered specifically for spot bonding and mechanical-anchoring style support, it is the professional solution for fixing heavy, oversized tiles, marble, granite, and composite stones onto highly challenging vertical and overhead surfaces.

Traditional cement-based tile adhesives require full thin-bed troweling, which can cause heavy wall cladding to sag, slide, or slip before curing. Roff Vertifix uses a non-sag, paste-like consistency and an incredibly fast setting window to lock stones onto walls in a matter of minutes. It fully complies with the strict tier performance standard of IS 15477:2019 Type 5 'T' S2.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Quick-Setting Formula: Roff Vertifix features an ultra-rapid cure cycle, with an initial setting time of just 15 to 30 minutes. This drastically improves masonry productivity and speeds up structural handling times.
  • Advanced Spot Bonding Economy: Rather than spreading material across the entire wall, this structural epoxy is applied in thick dabs (spots). This method saves significantly on material consumption and overall weight while maintaining maximum structural stability.
  • True Non-Sag Vertical Performance ('T'): Engineered with a thick, heavy-bodied paste consistency that instantly grips and anchors heavy stones against walls and ceilings without sagging or sliding out of alignment.
  • Multi-Surface Adhesion Power: Creates an unyielding chemical and mechanical bond over highly diverse substrates, including iron, steel, aluminum, marine plywood, and drywall systems (like gypsum, cement, or bison boards).
  • Chemical & Environmental Shield: Highly resistant to water, weather, dynamic shocks, structural vibrations, solvents, alkalis, and industrial oils.
  • High-Deformability Rating (S2): Rated as an S2 highly-deformable system, meaning the cured epoxy spots can absorb intense structural settling, thermal expansion, or continuous traffic vibrations without breaking.

Primary Applications

  • Materials to Fix: Heavy natural stones (marble, granite, Kota stone), large-format vitrified/porcelain slabs, precast terrazzo, composite quartz, engineered nano-stones, and heavy metal or glass tiles.
  • Background Substrates: Cement-plastered walls, concrete columns, structural steel frames, copper/aluminum surfaces, drywall boards, and old existing tiles/stones.
  • Areas of Use: High-end interior wall claddings, heavy skirting, building facades, elevator car walls, lift lobbies, staircases, and overhead ceiling tiles.

Understanding the Roff Vertifix Variant System

While cementitious tile adhesives are categorized by colors (Grey/White), the heavy-duty Roff Vertifix T24 system is a specialized chemical composite split into a two-component kit that must be mixed together directly on-site:

  • Component A (The Base Resin): A thick, off-white to pale yellow structural epoxy paste formulated with heavy body modifiers.
  • Component B (The Chemical Hardener): A dense, yellowish reactive paste designed to trigger a rapid exothermic curing process when combined with Part A.

Mixing and Presentation Standard:

  • Color of the Mixed Product: Smooth Ivory / Pale Yellowish Paste.
  • Standard Packaging Size: 1.5 Kg Pack Kits (1.0 Kg Part A Base + 0.50 Kg Part B Hardener). This convenient, small-batch sizing is optimized to prevent material wastage since the product has an ultra-fast pot life.

Application Instructions

  1. Substrate Preparation: Ensure the wall or metal framing is rigid, dry, clean, and structurally sound. Wire-brush or sandblast metal substrates to remove rust, mill scale, or old paints.
  2. Mixing: Blend Part A and Part B thoroughly in the exact 2:1 factory-provided ratio. Mix until a perfectly uniform, streak-free ivory/yellow paste is achieved.
  3. Applying Dabs (Spot Bonding): Apply the mixed Vertifix paste in thick dabs directly onto the back of the tile or stone. A minimum of 5 dabs per square foot is mandatory (one dab in each of the 4 corners, plus 1 dab directly in the center). Ensure that the adhesive spots cover at least 10% of the total back area of each tile piece.
  4. Fixing & Curing: Press the tile firmly onto the wall substrate, adjusting for level and plumb immediately within the 10-minute open window. For safety with ultra-heavy elements, use mechanical clamps or temporary supports, which can be safely removed after 5 to 6 hours.
  5. Limitations: Do not use standard spot bonding on high-impact floor areas (for floors, use a continuous thin-bed application method instead). Vertifix should not be used to bond highly transparent glass blocks, as the ivory dabs will cast a shadow. For transparent or light-colored stones, always test a demo piece for potential color staining beforehand.
