UltraTech PPC (Portland Pozzolana Cement) is a blended cement manufactured by inter-grinding high-quality clinker with gypsum and high-reactive pozzolanic materials, such as fly ash. It is designed to provide long-term durability and is widely considered an eco-friendly alternative to traditional Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC).

1. Composition & Technology
Blended Formula: It typically contains 15% to 35% fly ash, which reacts with the calcium hydroxide released during cement hydration to form additional cementitious compounds.

Pore Refinement: The fly ash particles are spherical and extremely fine, which helps fill microscopic voids in the concrete, creating a denser and less permeable structure.

Quality Standards: It conforms to IS 1489 (Part 1), the Indian Standard for fly-ash-based Portland Pozzolana Cement.

2. Key Performance Benefits
Enhanced Durability: Because the concrete is denser, it is highly resistant to chemical attacks, such as sulphate and chloride ingress, making it ideal for coastal or water-prone areas.

Crack Resistance: PPC generates lower "heat of hydration" during the setting process compared to OPC. This lower temperature rise significantly reduces the risk of thermal cracking in large concrete pours.

Superior Finish: The high fineness of the particles improves the workability of the mortar, leading to a smoother, more cohesive finish during plastering and masonry work.

Anti-Corrosive: By reducing permeability, it provides a protective barrier for the steel reinforcement inside the concrete, preventing rust and increasing the lifespan of the building.

While UltraTech PPC gains strength more gradually than OPC 53 Grade, it eventually achieves high ultimate strength, making it suitable for:
